Car Registrations:
Re-registrations can be done online at Rapid Renewal | Vehicle & Trailer Registration Renewal Service or at the town office.
What you will need:
- Your CURRENT vehicle registration — Data must be entered accurately
- Your insurance card
- Your vehicle's current mileage
You cannot use this service and will need to come in person if:
- Your registration expired more than 7 months ago
- Your registration expires more than 2 months from now
- You must re-new in person if you are required to file an SR-22
New registrations can be done at the town office.
What you will need:
- Bill of Sale - Must have VIN number, names and contact information of buyer and seller with signatures, date of purchase, price of vehicle, and description of the vehicle being sold.
- Previous Title/Certificate of Title Application
- Proof of Insurance
- Current Mileage
Pine Tree Plates:
Starting May 1st, the Pine Tree plates will be replacing all Chickadee plates. If you have a Chickadee plate, you will be issued a new Pine Tree plate upon re-registering your vehicle. If you would like to reserve your vanity plate number/phrase, you can either go to maine.gov/online/reservemyplate or fill out the BMV Reserved Plate Application and mail the form to 29 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0029 before your car registration expires.
Dog Registrations:
You will be able to register your dog mid-October through the end of January. Please be sure to register your dog before the January 31st deadline because the $25 late fee takes effect on February 1st for any re-registered dogs. You can register them in person at the Town Office or online at Online Dog Licensing: State of Maine Animal Resources Team: Division of Animal and Plant Health: Maine DACF.
Boat, ATV, Snowmobile Registrations:
You can reregister your boat, ATV, or snowmobile at Maine Dept of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. You can also renew your hunting and fishing license online.
Notary Public fees:
$2.00 per signature
$60.00 for weddings
